Our Pregnancy Pilates classes are a great way to stay healthy during your pregnancy and make new friends too. Classes are kept small to ensure you receive personal attention and all mats and props are provided so you don't have to worry about bringing anything with you.
The more active and fit you are during pregnancy, the easier it will be for you to adapt to your changing shape and weight gain. It will also help you to cope with labour and get back into shape after the birth. Classes can help to boost your immune system and circulation and increase your energy levels during pregnancy.
Once you have had your baby and have had your 6/8 week check, you will be able to join our Mum & Baby Pilates classes and keep up the work you have started and continue your friendships!
When is it safe for me to start?
- If you have been exercising recently* and regularly immediately prior to pregnancy you may start any time
-If you have not done exercise prior to pregnancy, please wait until 12 weeks before commencing
- If you are reaching your 3rd trimester and have not attended classes during the earlier stages of your pregnancy or not been doing regular exercise, it is not safe to start now
*for at least the 8 weeks prior to the start of your pregnancy
Is Pregnancy Pilates suitable for me?
-If you are having a multiple pregnancy it may not be advised to exercise
-If you have any health conditions related to your pregnancy, please check with your midwife or consultant if it is safe for you to participate
